Bucuresti - 12th of March 2008 - The Non-governmental Foundation COASIT, in a partnership with CEFIN, has launched for the second consecutive year a social assistance campaign for 95 elderly persons of Italian origin.
Through this project, started on the 30th of January 2008, the COASIT Foundation, with the support of CEFIN, aimed at helping 95 elderly persons to take complete medical tests within the clinics of the Unirea Medical Centre.
The medical examination is to take place until the end of March 2008. The first 75 persons had already been examined by 21st of February. They benefitted from complete sets of blood tests, electrocardiographic tests, ophtalmological examinations and abdominal testings with ultrasounds.
In the next period, COASIT aims at finalising the medical investigations also for the last 20 persons within the project. They are very old persons who, because of heart and breathing problems, could not be transported during winter.
The Non-governmental Foundation COASIT is taking care of 150 elderly persons who have a monthly revenue between 100 and 200 RON. They are assisted on a daily basis by COASIT volunteers.
COASIT is a Non-governmental organisation registred in Romania and recognised by the Italian Embassy. Founded in 1979 by an Italian priest and by Mrs. Giovanna Romagnoli, the current president of the Association, COASIT is economically supporting 150 elderly persons of Italian origin.
CEFIN is a multinational company set up in 1995, its line of business being the provision of integrated services in the automotive, production and real estate fields.
